:o HELP!! Anybody have anything on Brock/Sloan/Roark lines?

For years I have been searching for any information on my Mary ROARK that married my John W. COLLINS. In the past few days I recieved a file from another researcher that might prove interesting. Here is what I have so far:

Thomas SLOAN b abt 1770 Ireland

+ Barthena BROCK (desc of Aaron Brock aka "Chief Red Bird" Cherokee )

1 Nancy SLOAN b ? d 1829 Harlan Co, KY

+ John ROARK b abt 1790 d May 25, 1844 Clay Co, KY, m abt 1813

2 Mary SLOAN b abt 1810

John ROARK b abt 1790 in Tennessee or Virginia d: May 25, 1844 in Clay County,

+ (1st wife) Nancy Sloan b ? d: abt 1829 m: abt 1813 d/o Thomas Sloan b 1770 Ireland

1 Mary ROARK b abt 1813 + unnamed mate(s)

[Re Mary ROARK b 1813 .... My gggrandmother who took up with my John W. Collins)

This Mary above was probably James' whole sister. She was a wild one!!

Here's her brood of illegitimate kids!! They were mostly bound out. Poor

Jefferson was bounced around to this person and that one. Noone seemed to

want him. I even found where Mary along with 2 men (a Collins and a

Patrick?) were being charged with a felony in Clay Co KY 1852. It doesn't

say what the felony was. I think Mary may have left KY after that with the

Collins man.]

Clay Co. Kentucky
On Clay County Court Order film of VOL 5 bottom of Page 8
" For ------ by John Collins, Mary Roark & David Patrick charged with fely(felony?) each $4.00?"
on next page it reads:
" Ordered that William Coldwell be allowed $2.29 for guarding John Collins & 3 days charged with felony which was ordered to be certified

Children of Mary Roark:

1-1 Jefferson Roark b January 23, 1831

1-2 Nancy Roark b April 03, 1838

1-3 Aaron Roark b September 1841 {living with Nelson SALYER in 1850 census]

1-4 Sarah Roark b 1842

1-5 John Roark b 1845

1-6 Julia Roark b June 1847

1-7 Pheobe Roark b May 23, 1851

Children of Mary Roark and John W. Collins

Alfred Collins born 1853 Tazewell Co. Va.

Arnetta"Nettie" Collins born 1855 Tazewell Co. Va

Still haven't discovered where or when John & Mary died. They disappear off McDowell Co. census after 1870.

I was surfing the internet and found several new sites on this line. The Brock/Roark connects with my COLLINS line. It makes for some interesting reading.
