I am a descendent of Meredith Collins (~1760 in VA-1841 in Pike County, KY) through his son Archibald Collins. (~1800 in Russel County, VA - ~1885 in Roane County, WV). It has been reported in our family that Archibald was part Native American. I see many other branches of the Collins family have the same traditions. Has any male descendent of Meredith Collins ever undergone Y DNA testing to determine a Collins family haplotype? This testing is not expensive, painless and can be done through numerous companies on the internet. Is there any male descendent of Meredith Collins out there who would like to give it a try?

I am hoping you know where Amos Collins is buried. b:1784 Va. d:1864 Va. It seems his DNA is at familytreedna.com and I'm wondering how? I am a researcher and relative to him from my mother and my father's side as double cousins. Any help would be appreciated. I'm awaiting my mtDNA as well as from the male side of the family.
