Why Do You Want to Join Saponitown Forum?:

My family has Native American family lore on both sides. They (The Adkins) hail from Birch Creek in Halifax County and the Reidsville NC area on my mothers side (Mitchum/Beasley). I am hoping to move back in the general area to do genealogy on the families. Furthermore, my wife who is descended from Chief Powhatan, is also into genealogy, She hails from Henrico County but her family comes from Galax.

Also we belong to a offshoot of a Cherokee Native American church, which we really enjoy and hope to find something similar in the area (Halifax) when we finally get back there.
