I am putting in Linda’s reply, in hopes that some of you might be able to help.
[QUOTE=Linda]Sure, corn bread, corn meal mush (aka polenta),
What is polenta?
=fried mush. Corn and beans together make a complete protein.
What kind of beans would be according as was ate at that time?
=It’s thought fry bread was originally made with acorn flour and bear grease.
Can you buy acorn flour at a speciality store?
= Iroquoian corn soup is basically hominy. Use the search button to search on “brunswick stew.” That’s an old VA Siouan recipe.
🙁 I could not find Brunswick stew in search.
I would like to eat more of these foods of what Linda mentioned. They sound wonderful. Though, I dont think I could find any bear grease.
