I made the same observation about Rush/Rash/Rasha. Any info or help on how you made leap from Rasha to “He’s James R. Melton.”

and then he lineage to–

His parents are on the 1850 Randolph Co., Ala census:

Michael Melton, b.abt. 1780 Va (or Orange Co., NC? )

and Rachael (Rush? ), b.abt. 1780 SC, d. 1860 Randolph Co., Ala.
