Promises include implementing all recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Committee, establishing a public inquiry into missing and murdered indigenous women, and funding First Nations t the same rate as every other Canadian.
The Assembly of First Nations used to be a body many Canadian politicians were afraid of. Now with Idle No More, the AFN looks more moderate. Time will tell if the new leader will live up to his promise of “Nation to Nation” relations with Canada’s First Nations.
