Congatulations!;) It sounds like you had a lot of fun. That’s what counts! I’m glad you’re back now. I’ve tried getting Tom’s interest on the arrows, but he’s been pretty busy lately too, I guess. I’m going to check out that link you left for Tom, for the one that didn’t work, probably, hopefully tomorrow. How’s the weather been up your way? It’s just been cold here with some light snows up here in the mountains this past week. Well, I should go see if Kerry has been up to anything on here today. Love & Light, Lynella.:)

The weather has been unseasonably warm. Yesterday it was in the fifties; people were out golfing – December 31 in Wisconsin!
I think someone just needs to create a design. Go for it. Yesterday, I was at Barnes and Noble and found an Indian Art magazine. It had a picture of a pair of moccasins dyed black from a southern tribe.
I opened my Hopewell pipe as a Christmas present. It is a carved catlinite raccoon and even more marvelous than its ebay picture was. Hard to imagine how they put the detail in it so long ago.

You are right, perhaps we should just come up with something and jump in head first! I think Kerry wants to e-mail you about Wisconsin. He used to live there and his son, Thomas Ashby and his family live there now. I would love to see a photo of your pipe it sounds really beautiful. I just love that sort of thing. It looks like it is shaping up to be a really nice Jan. 1 up here. There’s not a cloud in the sky. I have a grocery trip to make and then I’m looking at your links. Love & Light, Lynella.;)
December 11, 2004 at 6:44 pm #12669Cindy;
I live in PA just south of York. I travel the state all the time. If you would like for me to get some photo’s for you, or look something up , or go to a particular cemetery and look for something – just let me know. Hey, didn’t I see in one of your posting’s that you live in Wisconsin? We lived in Wisconsin from 1986 until 1993. We were stationed at Ft. McCoy, near Sparta, WI. I have a son and his family that still live there.
December 11, 2004 at 6:44 pm #12682Kerry,
I used to live in Durand, WI on the other side of WI, nearer Sparta than I do now. Now I live just north of Chicago where I work. I am really from Iowa and lived there most of my life.
I will let you know about PA. Most of my people left there in the early 1800s. There were Sinkey/Sankeys in York earlier, however, there is some conflict as to whether or not they are ancestors. Somone wrote a book claiming that they were all descended from the Sankey from York. I am not so sure. Mine took the Sinkey name while the others have the Sankey name. The Sinkeys went to Ohio while many of the Sankeys stayed in PA. There were also McCarty’s, Greens and Hustons in PA. And your Ricketts (and mine) and some Fergusons. I believe that the Ricketts connect with your line if you follow the stuff I posted earlier. They came from MD or VA first according to a book on genealogy.com.

December 11, 2004 at 6:44 pm #12688Thanks – I’ll definately be looking into the Ricketts & Ferguson connections more. It’s all just a matter of time. We’ve been making some good progress on our Hodges, Staton and Gentry lines recently. Thanks to the folks here on Saponitown forum. (Bill and others). I’ve been trying to find more on our Evans and Millers but they are proving to be difficult. Anyway – I hope your holidays were happy and I wish you a happy and prosperous new year!:)
December 11, 2004 at 6:44 pm #12691And to you! BTW, I have several Evans also, located in Licking County, OH

It is winter here now. First, ice yesterday. Now today, 6 to 12 inches of snow. There’s a couple on the ground right now from last night, and it’s snowing as I type. Glad I bought bird food yesterday for the cardinals.

December 11, 2004 at 6:44 pm #12857Evans in Licking Co., I don’t know if we’ve looked in that area yet. Hmmmmmm. I am pretty sure Ezra Evan’s wife Elizabeth miller came from GA. I’m finally going to look at some of that here in a few. Hopefully we’ll find something, it’s going to be a challenge though. Thank you Techteach, I would have never looked in Licking County, OH. You’re the best!:) Love & Light, Lynella.

Try this URL: http://www.npls.org/lcgs/lostpioneer.htm Several of these lost pioneers are not lost. They are buried in the Iowa cemetery that holds my Sinkeys and Ralstons. That web site also has a list of heads of households in 1820.
Evans have married into my lines but are not my direct ancestors.

December 11, 2004 at 6:44 pm #12877Yep:) You’re a blessing all the way around! Kerry I think has Tibbitts he wants to get into and I saw a Reed on there. Thank you again!;) You’re so wonderful and always just right there too.:) This is cool! Love Ya’, Lynella.
December 11, 2004 at 6:44 pm #12885I glanced breifly at the “lostpioneer” link from Techteach. I did see at least 5 Evans’ and 1 Samuel Reed. Hmmmm – interesting.
December 11, 2004 at 6:44 pm #12901Yeah! Isn’t that awsome? She’s just too good to us!:) What have we been doing slopping through life all these years with out her?;) I Love You Cindy. Love & Light, Lynella.
December 11, 2004 at 6:44 pm #13022Hi all, it’s been a really long time since I’ve been on….lots going on in Saponi Town. For Lynella..I’m Deb (Sinkey) Cindy’s cousin.
Thank you for the post on the Ricketts Cindy, I think this is the one you tried to send me and I couldn’t open. On all the geneolgy I’ve seen…it just says William Sinkey and wife Hannah…no last name. Now we have proof that Hannah’s last name is Ricketts. William and Hannah are Richard (Bridget)Sinkey’s mother and father, Richard is William’s son, not his brother. Richard’s oldest son is William also (Mary McCartney) I assume named after his father. Maybe this is easier because there are so many William Sinkey’s that it’s hard to keep them all straight. All these Williams had children that all named their children William and etc… there is a bunch of them and at least 4 or 5 of them had Mary’s for wives. The men are all Sinkey’s.
1) William/Hannah Ricketts
2) Richard/Bridget (Last Name Unknown)
3) William/Mary McCartney
4) Matthew/Nancy Huston
5) William/Angeline Smith (at least for my line)
6) Albert/Clara Ralston
7) Howard/Della Millard
8) Darrell/Dolores Milburn
9) Deb (me)
