I am trying to find out about the Bloomfields. My mother-in-law is a bloomfied and her fater (Stanely Bloomfield) was Black foot. I want to get this knowledge for my son who is part black foot. I want to help him find out his herritage and how they use to live to teach how lucky he is to have what he’s got today. If any one could help me I would surely appreciate it alot. You know today kids. Stanely Bloomfield parents where George Bloomfield and mother is Lauena (Marks) Marchll. I really don’t have much to go on. Stanely married Viola Jean Newbury on Sept.5 ? Stanely Birthdate is July 22,1915 and died Feb. 16, 1997. He does have a sister Ester Howell of West Brach and sometimes In Az. He was also related to a Vera Keough of New Mexico or Texas. Also a Mike Bloomfield of Port Huron Michigan. Stanely was born in Port Huron, Mi and resident of Yale Mi. Please help me. Thank you Veronica:confused:

Veronica contacted me by email and I told her it may be significant these Bloomfields were from Michigan. If these Blackfoot are derived from VA/NC, we may find the same pattern found in other VA/NC Indians who migrated to Michigan. In the upper south they were classified as mulatto or colored, but in MI, the gov’t documents classified them as Indians. This has proved valuable for some in proving their identities, so it’s something to be on the lookout for.

If that is the case, Deb has a Sinkey who went to Michigan, one of the Sinkeys who came from PA. I will email her for the information. I seem to recollect that he got in trouble and went to Michigan to avoid it.
