I am researching William Chinn of Lawrence
Co, Ohio in 1800’s. He married an Indian
woman believed to be of Blackfoot descent,
they lived in Lawrence Co Ohio from 1813 on.
He immigrated from England via Canada thru
Detroit MI, unto Lawrence Co Ohio. Their
first born child Joseph was born in 1/1814
their second child Elizabeth 1817. They
lived in Union Twp. His wife died after 1840
he remarried a Rebecca Dotson in 1845. We
are tring to identify her and her ancestors.
There are many people in Ohio who have now concluded they are of Saponi descent who have carried the Blackfoot ID in their families. Send me a message to sissipaha@saponitown.com and I will forward it to a few of them. Do you still live in Ohio? Do you have any maiden name for this Ancestor?
