Hello again! I’ve not been on the forum for a long time…health, moving, etc. A lot of you are new, so here goes…My research includes Keithley, Glascock, Haas & Beaver families. I have gotten further on my father’s side, because I still need to pursue his claim that his great grandmother was Blackfoot. Nothing in the family tree locations made sense, until I found Saponitown.
I have come up with Amos Sutton, born between 1796 and 1797 in Kentucky. His father, Nathaniel Sutton, was born before 1738 in Virginia. His wife’s name was Sarah, born before 1769.
Amos Sutton married Matilda O. Trabue/Tribue? , born 16 Feb., 1808 born in Kentucky, but I know that the Trabue’s lived in Virgina.
My great grandmother was Amos & Matilda’s daughter, Joanna Sutton, b. abt 1837 born in Missouri. They settled in Pike County, MO. Joanna is the one Dad remembers as Blackfoot, and, he was adament about that fact…Joanna married my great grandfather, James Thornton Keithley, and they had 11 children.
Nathaniel’s father was Christopher Sutton, married a Hope Beumont. I have no dates on them yet.

Sutton, REALLY??? Wow, I wonder if they’re of the same Sutton’s as mine. We’ll have to wait and see what Bill finds. I’m going to call my brother today and ask him where my packet of info is that he promissed me two months ago! Thank you so much for sharing your info. I can’t wait to get to know you better! I have Beavers in my line. They marry into my Green line. You might want to take a look at the “Senecas of the Sandusky” in the History forum. Bess posted information on the Beavers.

Christerfer(sic) Sutton appears on one of Capt Flower Swift’s militia muster lists…….. this would be after Sept 8, 1779 in New River area of Va. (Current Grayson and Carroll Counties)

On the 1800 Kentucky Tax Lists, the only Trabue (any spellings) are:
Daniel Trabue, Green Co. (County Seat Greensburg)
Eliza Trabue, Green Co.
Stephen Trabue, Green Co.
Edward Trabue, Woodford Co. (County Seat Versailles) This would be considered an extreme “outlier” geographically, compared to the Green Co group.
There are 31 Sutton households in various Ky counties in 1800.
The only geographic match to any Trabue, is a William Sutton in Green Co.
There is a Nathaniel Sutton in 1800 Bourbon Co., Ky., which is only 2 counties east of Woodford Co. To help find it on a map, Bourbon’s county seat is Paris.
