We're a group of people descended from the allegedly "extinct" Eastern Siouan people who lived in the Piedmont of VA and NC up until colonial times. After colonial times many people dispersed but were not destroyed.

The mysterious identification "Blackfoot" is often heard from families who have no logical connection to the northwest. When those families derive from the NC/VA Piedmont, Saponi / Siouan is the likely basis.
