Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I did get prior permission from the line to post this here. Need parent information on Isaac Jeffries, who was born 1790 in Virginia. He married Nancy Fent in Jefferson Twp, Fayette, Ohio in 1816.
Their children were, Mary
William
Caleb Perkins
Mathias
George
Andrew Jackson
Henry
Nancy Ann
In 1858, Isaac and Nancy moved to Harrison Co, MO, to live with their son, Andrew Jackson. He died around 1870 in Clay, Harrison Co. Missouri. Nancy is on the 1870 census as living with Andrew, her son, and his family.
I don’t know if there is a connection or not, but there are Jeffries who were some of the first Europeans to settle in Franklin Co., MO (a little town on Hwy 50 known as Jeffriesburg).
It would be interesting to see if these Jefferies tie back into the
Farrar plantation and Jordan Plantation.
I did find out, Jeffriesburg is gone. It was on Highway 50 between Beaufort and Union. It was near and is sometimes associated with the town of Casco, now gone as well. St. Jordan’s UCC is an old church at the site that is still going. The records for that church are available.
