Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
My granfather was married twice. Once to Nannie L. Dunn and once to Fannie Bette Redd (her father was Horace/Horrace Red
They always lived in the Virginia/North Carolina area. From Benson, NC to Halifax County Virginia. Suddenly I find that they have turned up in Ohio. But can’t tie them in to Native American though my father always said they were.
I, like many, didn’t pay attention when i was younger and now that he and most of his family is gone, i have no one to go to in order to help me out.
If anyone can tie in to any of these names, please let me know.
Thanks, Mary
Mary,
By way of saying ‘they have turned up in Ohio’ , have you not looked at the 1880 Halifax Va census for Redbank Twp (where Horace was in 1900) , for James R. Redd, b.abt. 1817 Va? Take a look.
Bill
