Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I am researching family members of the Jarman family and found a posting on this site of others with this surname. My boyfriends GGG grandmother was Eliza Jarman of Albermarle Co. Virginia born 1808. Her father was native Am. and she was sold into slavery as was he. Eliza was moved to Kentucky and lived there 68 years. Then to Delhi Ks. Were we have record of her ( were we live- topeka. ) She married in to the Bronson family. Does anyone out there know anything or have any connection to the Jarman family? Thanks Stephi
Hi, Stephi,
Who were his grandparents or G-grandparents?
Bill
I have no idea. She and her husband Boysen Bronson were the first ones on the list of the geneology for the Bronson family. So I was just trying to find out more on the Jarman side . All that is said in the literature from the Kansas gen.site is that her father was native American and that he was sold to slavery. She was a slave and it was stated her mother died when she was nine days old. I found this info on (morenames.com) . If you go on that site it pulls up all the last names of settlers of the famous Nicodemous Ks. ,then you click on Jarman and also Bronson and it gives the whole family run down. Thats all I know. I found this site by accident as I was just typing in the Jarman name and looking under Native Am. sites and connecting it to Albermarle Co. It showed several people on this site looking for Jarman family. I do know she moved to Kentucky and in the geneology it states one of her children was Paris Bronson. I talked to his daughter who is 88 and she said he was named after ” Paris, Kentucky” so perhaps that is a clue as to where she lived in Kentucky. Thanks for responding. Steph
