I have been trying to research this family and I am getting nowhere. I can’t find a single McRex but I am finding a few Rex but only ones in NC were in Rowan County. Does anyone have a clue who these people are?
I looked around and couldn’t find any but I’m sure I haven’t exhausted all spelling variations. Alternately, the ‘dropping’ of the ‘Mc’ in names seems to be extensive in earlier records so the ‘Rex’ may be the ‘McRex’ people.

I did some checking of variations as well and Rix and Ricks seem to both be variations of this name. The Ricks family was all around us so now I am wondering if she was a Ricks. Have you ever run into this family in your research of native lines?
