My best friend is a Harris from here in Southern Indiana. His heritage is AA and Cherokee but I have not “run his genealogy” for him at this time. Any possible connections? Just wondering.

I don’t know about that. Several who do, say to put the pic’s in an attachment. You might try emailing Linda or Techteach.

Harris is definitely a NA surname. What you may think as AA may very well be NA. I have found in my geno searches that most NDN married NDN even though race was never mentioned or even when the census takers chose to label us as mulatto, black, colored or even white. I am finding that it is still more of us (NDNs) than any other race here in america and we need to step it up and claim our heritage back for our future generations and in honor of our ancestors who have gone on….

I’ll get with him and see what he knows. I don’t think he’s done any detailed searches so I’ll probably have to do the work for him.
