What puzzles me is that Hiarm in the census you looked at Bill says that he married an Anna E? I have never heard of her. Maybe the family line is so mixed up thats why no one wanted to find the Native line or family. I hope Bill or anyone else can help. Thanks in Advance.

Hi you asked me who I desended from. I came through Katheryn Phoebe (Kit) Jones. Sometimes on the census it is Phoebe Katheryn or Catherin. Her husband was Isaac West. I ran across some old papers that I had the census down on. I found in the 1850 census (from Berrien Co. MI):

I cannot rightfully find her correct parents. All the data I have collected have been from quiries on the Genealogy.com,Ancestry.com and Family Search.
Rebeccas family, I can not tell. I believe her father was married twice-and there are so many families I do not know which is correct. I have Weirs,and Browns and Tuttles….I do not know which line for sure. It is so flusterating. I am trying to entangle a great knot and so far I havent found the ends of the strings.
I read one query where Rebeccas mother who was from Ohio, one of her mothers may have been Shawnee. Though my uncle, told me many many years ago that it was Blackfoot.
I will keep looking, and I am indeed grateful for Bill or anyones help. Thank you. 🙂
The Berrien Co., Mi census info you posted is for 1860, not 1850.
The Hiram Jones born 1848 Fleming Co., Ky can not be the father of Katharine Phoebe Jones, b. 1859, as he would have only been 11 yrs old at that time, and that Hiram did marry Ann E.
Your Hiram Jones was born abt.1820/21 in Ohio, probably Butler Co.
Your Rebecca Lightfoot Jones was born abt.1826/27 in Ohio, maybe in Holmes Co., Ohio, where they were married 20 August 1844.

Daniel Lightfoot, b.abt.1796 Maryland, d.abt. 1860 Kosciusko Co., Ind;
who married 6 Oct 1825 Holmes Co., Ohio:
Ann Weir, b.abt.1808 Penn., d.abt. 1855 Ind.
They are on the 1850 Kosciusko Co., Ind census, Jackson Twp, with 4 children b. in Ohio.
Daniel’s line is: John/William/Daniel.
According to the 1870 Berrien Co., Mi Census for Niles, Mi, Isaac West (b.July 1834 Penn per 1900 Berrien Census), his wife was Elizabeth, b.abt.1832 Ohio, with children Emma, 4, and Charles, 2.
The 1880 Berrien Co Mi census lists Isaac West’s wife as Catherine P., abt. 1858, Ind, with children Anna (Emma?), 14; Charles, 12, and Nellie, 1.
The 1900 Berrien Co census lists Isaac and Pheobe C., as married for 23 yrs.

You have found so much. I have never seen those names except for Weir. I have ran across that name before. I am going to have to do some research on that line.
Isaac was married before to a Eliza Bone when they had Anna and Chas. Nellie was there first together after Eliza Bone West died.
So now my search takes me into Ohio and Virginia.
I have to see where the Blackfoot comes in. I wonder if there is anything in OH? I would think in VA –but I will have to do some deep research now.

I just looked over my email and seen that it was “Daniels” line that his great were named, not Aarons. I misread that :confused: . Sorry about that.
Hi! Its been a while, but I have been doing genelaogy, and have got a bit further. I have found a distant cousin who had someone do the Native American side, and found that the one grandmother was Native American. She was born in Fleming County Kentucky in 1768. Her only name we have of her is, and their are variations: Rue,Ruah and Ruahana. I read that that name is found often besides the Native Amiercans gilrs’ names. They dont know if its because A) they are Christianized B) that is there middle names or C) or their first names.
We have no other name for her, and I know that there has to be somewhere. Little things keep popping up all the time when we all dig into our families, year upon year.
She married Zachariah Hinton in 1794 in Fleming Co. Kentucky.
They had a large family:Elizabeth m James Jordan, Margaret (Peggy) m Samuel Gooding, Benjamin m Lydia Bramel, James m Sarah Waugh, Rachel m William F. Jones, Eli m Rachel Waugh, Samuel m Julia Lewman, David m Mary Jane Hickerson, Brice m Evalina Jordan, John C. m Sara Ann Kirk, Millicent m Tolliver Grigsby, Hester m ?, and Ezekiel m Mary Jordan.
Maybe some of those names may connect with some others on here. Also I remember my uncle heard it was Blackfoot. So thats why I am still here.
Maybe her parents came from Virginia to Kentucky. Thats a great possiblity.
Could someone tell me the history of our people at that point of time?
I had read a post somewhere else that said no Indian exsisted in Kentucky. And that isnt so. They were there first in the Virginias’ and Kentucky.
