This is not really an Indian topic, but I thought it might be fun to share our baby pictures (we were all cute once).
Now you know why my middle name means White Hawk. 🙂

I didn’t see this thread until today.
Can you tell me how to insert a picture? I figured out how to do one as an attachment, but I can’t figure out how to insert one here inside the post. I clicked on the little picture icon when I was replying, but it asked for a url starting with http and my picture is on my hard drive, not on a website.
So can you tell me how to do it? I’ll put one up here if you can help me.

You need to have your pictures hosted online. You can do it for free at many different websites. I think Snapfish will do it.
Linda, I just learned that in order to put pictures inside the post here I have to have my pictures online somewhere.
Is there a way you can change the settings to allow us to put pictures into the posts themselves without having them on a website somewhere?

I simply attached the picture. I reduced its’ size so maybe that is how it is showing as a picture instead of an attachment. I do not have it saved on the net anywhere, and no address was given from which to pull the picture. Try reducing your pic size and attach. It worked for me. I believe Linda approves pics and maybe saves them on this forum, thus creating an online location. Try again please.
Hi again. Ok, I’ll attach this and see what happens. This is one I have handy, I can probably find one younger. Here I am 3 years old at Long Beach, California.
This is one of my favorite memories. My father had just survived menningitis (sp?) which almost killed him. Long story. Anyway, after he got his sight back and was able to learn to walk again my parents took us to the beach. It is a day I will never forget. This picture holds such wonderful memories for me.

This was one of those cool photographs they painted, my kids always ask if they put makeup on me; its just paint.

Is there a way you can change the settings to allow us to put pictures into the posts themselves without having them on a website somewhere?
If you can make do with the attachment method, I’d appreciate it. Before this upgrade, I had to resize all photos myself and save them to the image folder manually and upload them. It was time consuming, and sometimes I fell behind and photos were forgotten. With this upgrade, users can independently upload their photos to an independent folder, rather than lost in the database, the way it would have worked with the old verison. I didn’t want that to happen, so I went to all the extra trouble. I’m trying to set it up so that there’s no moderation of photos necessary, I thought I had. I’m working on it.

Hey, adding pictures as an attachment is way better than having to bug you with all the details. Thank you so much for answering.
edited to add: Wow, I just looked and now my picture is in the post where before you had to use the attachment link. It must be magic! LOL That’s so cool! Thanks for whatever you did Linda.

I just LOVE the baby pics…innocent indeed….what joy and bliss!
To set the “stage” for my posting: we lived at the time on Pearl Street in Reading, OH ; me the youngest of 7. My mother was a chef by way of profession and well, we ALL learned to cook from a right young age…those memories are some of my fondest…diddling in the kitchen alongside mom, learning some new thing to whip up. In this pic I was “transitioning” from a jett black haired infant to a strawberry blondie…which ultimately turned blonde and JINKIES!…I just adore the funky lil retro wool outfit I’m wearing…LOL.
