I finally found my way back. My mother told me many years ago and wrote
in my little book about my Indian ancestry which I was very poud of and so – I began my tracking and here I am. Rosa Daughter is the great-GGG grand daughter of John Austin who was married to Hanna Love. Please connect with me if you are in my line.
A lot of people have posted here over the years about Austin kin. Use the search feature above and search on that name and you’ll see what I mean. Austin is one of the few names documented to tribal Saponi.

Try posting all you know to the “Share Genealogy” section. And use the search button on the blue border at the top to bring up all the many posts we’ve had on that name. Austin is one of the half dozen names documented to tribal Saponi, so it’s well worth your effort.
My Grandpa said we had “Blackfoot” indian. I blew it off because they were from TN area. I found an article on the ‘Sissipaha’. I now want to find his family connection. His grandfather was MOSES AUSTIN born in TN around 1852. Moses married a Parisetta/Pricilla Ellen WALKER. Is there any connection to anyone?
It’s gratifying to me to hear that the Blackfoot ID has been carried in Austin families, since that’s one of the only half dozen names that can be connected to tribal Saponi. We just had an exciting thread about that last week, (http://www.saponitown.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2705&highlight=austin) with an Austin who can trace back to the documented Saponi Indian ca 1684 or thereabouts. I’ve also heard the Walker name often in this connection, and TN is a common location. There’s nothing in your family’s lore that needs to be blown off. In my opinion, what your grandpa said is rock solid.
