Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Hello Linda,
Found this site yesterday. I haven’t been up with things in a while but hopefully that I can soon get back into the swing of things.
I like the site. You have done an outstanding job. It is easy to get around and very informative.
For those that don’t know who I am. I am Brenda Collins Dillon. I have been searching for the truth of my heritage for many years. It has been a difficult road with many dead ends and untruths. My ggggrandfather was Meredith “Meridia” COLLINS born 1760 somewhere listed as Virginia, died 1841 Pike Co. Kentucky. He was listed in Floyd Co. KY 1810 as “Mullato” and 1820 as “Free Person of Color” (fpc)
I believe that Meredith ‘s parents could have possibly come from Fort Christanna but
I have nothing to document that.
Brenda
Thanks Brenda for appreciating the site, and welcome. I just said hi on the other thread I got to first, but let me say again, I am so please you find the site. I still remember the story you told me about how all this started for you. Something about a box full of records that arrived a year late?
