Trying trace a family of Dixie Poston b.1 Jan.1930 married to Cecil Lamar Wileyb.Nov. 12, 1945.
Is there an index to begin a genealogic search?
January 13, 2007 at 12:07 am #24389If you know where either one was born, I’ll check. There may be a census listing for Dixie Poston or a vital records listing for Cecil L. Wiley, b. 1945, but I don’t hold out much hope on Cecil unless it would be a telephone database listing or a birth registry index that hasn’t been taken offline yet.

January 13, 2007 at 12:07 am #243971930 Seminole Co., Ga Census; ED 6 Steam Mill District; Donalson & Dresser Road; 5 April; Sheet 2B; (this county is in extreme SW Georgia on the Florida line)

FAIRCLOTH, Andrew; Head, m, W, 27; m’d@21, Ga, Fl, Fl
……………, Clara (?); wife, f, W, 19, m’d@ 14, Ga, Ga, Ga.
COLLINS, Willis; Head, m, W, 24, Ga, Fl, Ga.
……….., Sophia; Wife, f, W, 23, Latvia, Lativa, Lativa, “Russian”.
This is the County Chain Gang Camp. Mason Poston is the “Convict Warden, County” . Andrew Faircloth and Willis Collins are both “Convict Guard, County” . They were holding 16 prisoners.
Ernestine may be a Faircloth as there is one, 13 y/o, in Decatur, the parent county of Seminole which was created in 1920. However there are three other Ernestines there who are also 13/14 y/o, so that’s uncertain.
Mason Poston & Willis Collins will need more work and I’ll see what I can do to validate the couple of possibilities.
