I just started researching my family. I am looking for information about the Indians of Person County NC. My father was born in Person County NC. He had all the features of a Saponi. Tall, Blue-green eyes and stately. He always talked about the Blackfoots and Sioux of the Eastern Cherokee. I was too young to be really engaged in our history when he passed. If anyone have information about the Dunns of Person County NC and Halifax County VA, please share.

I just got started doing my family history. Because most of the information is miss reported, I am not getting anywhere. Most of the dates are wrong. My grandfather’s name is William Dunn. He was born about 1835. He Married a Julia (don’t know maiden name). He could be Cherokee. I have not found his name on any of the Rolls.
