This is a good one to attend…it’s small, but, like family. We went last year and had a blast. It promises to be a hot weekend…so remember to take plenty of sunscreen and drinks. There aren’t any hotels close by…we are just going up for the day, at least on Saturday. Chief Jim and his wife, Kim, are some of the sweetest people you ever will meet on this earth.
July 9, 2007 at 4:57 pm #27410Thanks, Becky.
East Bend wasn’t familiar to me, so I had to look up where it was. It’s near Tobaccoville and Rural Hall, NW of Winston-Salem.
July 9, 2007 at 4:57 pm #27469Well, it was a great pow wow. The weather held out…the food was good…the dancers were great….we met more friends. If you ever get the chance to see the POW-MIA-KIA exhibit, please do. It travels around the countryside…a real emotional experience. Guess we’ll see everyone at Cheroenhaka next weekend!
July 9, 2007 at 4:57 pm #27473Cool, Becky! I was wondering how it went.
That’s one we will look for next year.
July 9, 2007 at 4:57 pm #27475Definitely put it on your calendar…he has bigger plans for next year. Chief Jim mentioned another thing he was working on for the fall…if that comes to fruition, I will let you know. You need to ask Ken how he enjoyed the pow wow…..
July 9, 2007 at 4:57 pm #27493I look forward to asking Ken that question in person. Sounds like there’s a good story to be shared.
This is such a wild summer for me. Hadn’t really gone anywhere or taken a vacation in years, due to health stuffs. It feels like this is very good for the person. Whee!
Yes, please do update if Chief Jim puts something together for the fall.
