Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to all. I am new to Saponitown and am very grateful for such a wonderful place to come to. I am researching my family tree. I am especially looking for my Native American Indian roots. I believe they came from Alleghaney area of VA. Thats where my GG-Grandmother was born in 1838. Her name was Margaret Jane Hart. She married Robert Bailes abt 1860 and lived in WV, Mckees Creek, Summersville, Nicolas Co. till she passed on in 1897. I would love to hear from anyone that might be related or knows anything about her. Thankyou and many blessings. Greydove:)
November 22, 2007 at 8:52 pm #29058Welcome Greydove. Have you tried using the search button (upper right) for your names and locations? What stories or other evidence do you have that makes you suspect NA blood along that line?

November 22, 2007 at 8:52 pm #29060Hi Linda! Thank you for welcoming me into Saponitown. Yes, I posted in Share Geneology and have used the Search for some of my surnames. I have seen Hart, Sparks, Bailes for some that are in common with other members. Hart is my paternal Grandfathers Grandmother. So that is where I feel (from what he told me when I was a young girl) my Native American Indian bloodline has come from. Although, now I am finding out there might be some on my paternal fathers fathers side, as well. They all were from VA & WVA on both sides. Also, I haven’t really searced much yet on my Mother’s side, but he was from Knoxville, Tenn., and family rumor is he was of Native American decent, too, from Smokie Mtn. area. But, I guess I should post in other catagorys for these, huh? I found a really good site called “My Two Beads Worth”. http://mytwobeadsworth.com/2beads.html I’d like to share with you and everyone. Once again, Thank you for the warm welcome and have a great day! I’ll be back soon. Greydove:)
