Don’t know if this has been posted before, but this is a google book (pdf download or you can read in text format) on Albemarle County’s history. Some familiar names:

This is the most i have seen or Nicholas Merriweather…. he is on my paternal line. Have had some here and there but never this much!
Also still figuring out if the John Carr talked about on page 157 is related. AJ Carr’s father and mother both passed about the same time and he was orphaned or given to relatives so there are a lot of blanks about him. Will do more checking. Alford Joseph (AJ) Carr was to my gggg grandfather. All we know is his father name was John. No known name for his mother. Thanks for the indepth info.
