I have an ancestor, Martha Patsy Carter born in Halifax Virginia about 1798. She was married to Willian Thomas Collie of Pittsylvania Co. If anyone has any Carter family info that might include Martha please share with me.

According to a tree found on Ancestry.com, Martha’s parents are James Carter and Amy Motley. It list William as being born 7-25-1790 in Pittsylvania Co. died 6-26-1875 in Pitts. Co VA. Married 3-18-1816 Pitts. Co. With them having 3 girls.
On another tree also on Ancestry.com, doesn’t list her parents. But list her and William having 8 children(5 boys & # girls)
Here is another puzzler. Jenny Adkins b1770 married to Whitehead Page, daughter Lucy Page. from Caswell NC. I have read somewhere than Jenny Adkins may have been llisted as Black or Mulatto. That is all well and good but the problem is that I can’t find any official records for her existence anywhere. Any suggestions?

may I ask where are your Whitehead ancestors from ?
i’m descended from the Whitehead Family that settled in Carter Co. and Blount co. in Tn.
It is believed that they may have been connected to the Whitehead families in Chatham Co. and Orange Co. in N.C.

Charlie P Whitehead & Bertha Caldwell- Charlie Born GA, died NC
William A Whitehead & Addie Lovejoy- William born & died GA
Francis M Whitehead & Nancy Bostwick- Francis born & died in GA
Samuel Whitehead & Rebecca Patton -Samuel born & died GA
Samuel Whitehead & Susannah Simms- Samuel born NC & died GA
Samuel Whitehead & Ursula ?- Samuel born ? died NC
I don’t know if they tie into Orange Co Whiteheads. But the last Samuel shows on 1790 census as being in Caswell county, which was formed from Orange in 1777.
Some other members of this family moved to Tenn. and some back to GA.
