searching for great grandmother info

I’m searching for info on my great grandmother. I have been told she was adopted by a stover family( adoptee being a doctor) somewhere in roanoke va.? My aunt had done research on her and found the information, but sadly my aunt passed away before I could talk to her.I know her children probably have the info but they won’t give it up. My other aunt said that she was told , that my g grandmother was form somewhere near walton’s mountain? She was born 1 aug 1895, went to college, married my g grandfather -jeter b. morris of powahatan va.,they married in norlina carolina. Her name was an annie m. stover. I really don’t know where to begin, I really appreciate the help.thank you .r burnette
