Brothers & Sisters or (Sisters and Brothers sorry about that sisters)
I just did the math and found that between 1621 and 2008, there have been 387 Thanksgivings.
My blood is composed of the Northern, and the Southern. On both sides I am sure there were people that wanted peace, cultural, and religious freedom, and others that felt that war and dominance was the answer.
At the age of 63 I have arrived at a place where only peace and tolerance make any sense. War should be a tool of defence and should as such, be administered liberally. However, if there were no agressors, and no one looking to obliterate a religion, or a culture then this war would not be needed.
At this time, i believe our journey has brought us to a place where peace and harmony, though not attainable yet, are closer than in the past.
This is a good season to be thankful and thoughtful, it won’t make up for the rest of the year but it might help to bring us closer to where we want to be, or maybe move our children that much closer.
