There are a couple of notable powwows in Connecticut during the summer.
Mohegan Wigwam Festival Aug 16-17.
Schemitzun, the Mashantucket Pequot Festival of Green Corn & Dance Aug 21-24.
My daughter and I plan to attend both.
If you have not seen Schemitzun, the thousands of dancers and singers from all over the country will surely get your attention. It usually takes me a little while before I am able to speak after the Grand Entrance.
Morgan and I really enjoy the Mohegan powwow as a really nice gathering and celebration. It is small and warm. Big drums.
Anyone venturing up north this summer might enjoy these two exceptional gatherings.
These are just two, there are others. Info available on the web.
Think Spring…….
