Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I was thinking, and I should have realized some time ago. My 3rd great grandmother, Rebecca Morning Starr, in my family, from members of the family I have never met or knew exsisited, said she was Blackfoot- thus Saponi. But her last name of Starr/Star is Cherokee.
I am wondering if there are any of your families, or families on record who may have went to Ohio in the middle to late 1700’s, who were a mix of Saponi/Cherokee.
If anyone has families they know of. One parent, in my case the father may have been Cherokee and the wife Saponi.
Today I was in a hurry and googled, and I can not find it again, and found something about where the Ohio families knew they were a mix.
If anyone has any clues, please let me know!!
