Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I am trying to find my third great grandmother, Missouri A. Chavers. She was married to a Simon DeLong(1842) who lived in Missouri.
My family has been saying that she could have been Blackfoot/Cherokee but I’m not really sure. She has been very elusive and hard to find. Here is some information about her family that I’ve gathered from family so far.
Her mother could possible be Sarah J Chavers, and her father a James Chavers.
Sarah J Chavers:???
James Chavers birth: abt 1808-1810, death:??, birth place: N.C.
Children:
Cynthia Chavers birth: abt 1826, death:???, birthplace: possibly N.C or Virginia
Missouri A. Chavers: birth: abt 1838-49, death:???, birthplace: possibly N.C or Virginia
Charles Chavers: birth: abt1851, death:???, birthplace: N.C or Virginia
James Chavers: birth: abt 1849-1853, death:???, birthplace: N.C. or Virginia
George Chavers birth: abt 1857, death:???, birthplace: N.C or Virginia
The family moved to Missouri later on.
Any help would be great, thanks.
