I was able to make a connection between myself and several of my DNA matches. This family discovery is both interesting and confusing! Early Virginia pioneer families….
Our connection is James Browning and Rebecca Browning. Rebecca and James were first cousins, Rebecca being Elizabeth Betsy Browings daughter with James Dolan. James was the son of Francis Browning and Tabitha Vance. Abner Vance was Tabitha’s father and was married to Susannah Howard. Susannah’s line is poorly documented and I’ve heard many rumors about her online.
James Dolans’ father is Bryan Dolan and Elizabeth Glover. Elizabeth Betsy Browning never married James Dolan but had 5 children with him. This is well documented in some of her father’s revolutionary pension records.
Does anyone know if any of these people had any suspected, family lore of or documented Native American ancestry?
