I know this sounds where but i have these dreams, and sometimes i get feelings that seem to happen,sometimes i wonder where they come from but my grandfather told me when i was younger i had a gift that had to do with being part of the blackfoot tribe, and that i needed to learn how to control it and develop it but i don’t know where to start. so that is why i need to take the trip to pennsylvania, so if anyone has any information maybe on what is going on with my dreams and feelings that would help.
i also just found out that my cousin also has these dreams, but she was to scared to tell anyone till i told her about it, my sister also has dreams like this, and we are the only ones that do. but my cousin only is 25% native american, but since it still runs in her blood i know that these dreams have to do with being native american, i also believe that maybe we should be practicing what were suppose to. so she also wants to take the trip to pennsylvania with me, so we can learn about are family, i know that my native american family is all still on the reservation. so if anyone can tell me where it is that would help. thanks
Where in Pennsylvania were your family? If you’re sure there is still a reservation, then maybe your family derives from some students from out west who were taken to Carlisle Indian school. There are good records there.
My friend had a very moving experience there. She was looking through photographs and found her grandmother’s picture. Kind of flew at her.
If your PA family pre-dates Carslisle Indian School, then perhaps you are Eastern siouan Blackfoot. The Eastern Siouan fled into PA in the 1700’s.
Do you have any family names, towns, dates? That might help.
Don’t worry about the degree of blood. I know eastern Siouan Blackfoot ancestors are very noisy, no matter how far back they are, and they have a lot they intend to say and do.
all i know is its a reservation in pa my grandfather and granmother and my father are dead so i dont know where in pa and i have no one to ask, all i know is that for some reason i have a feeling i have to go there, i dont even know where the feeling came from, i just woke up one day and thought of it.
I’ve had some interesting dreams lately too.
In one my entire family was sitting around a kitchen table and my sisters faces were a lot more Indian looking than they actually are. Grandpa was sitting just outside of the circle of light (he passed on in the early ’80’s) We were talking, and laughing, about someone we called Great Uncle Gordon, who was apparently quite a rascal, when my mom smacked me on the back of the head and told me to behave myself because she didnt’ want me to hurt Grandpa’s feelings over Uncle Gordon.
As far as I know, there’s nobody in the family ever named Gordon…..I should probably check it out……
I don’t know that there is any reservation in Pennsylvania. It got lost to white settlement way back in Penn’s time. The Six Nations were the last to “own” it, though a very many tribes had refugeed there from other places.
Who has been saying there was a reservation? What they may be referring to is a settlment of Indian descended people not officially part of any recognized (and controlled) tribe. I know some people who may help to figure this out if you can think of any more details. Or maybe you’ll dream them.
As far as the known locations of Saponi/Tutelo people (some of them I believe would have called themselves Blackfoot) they were in Sunbury. There are other places I’ll need to look up. If there’s a place where they settled in numbers, it would have been on the quiet. A lot of people did that in Appalachia. Your dreams may tell you more than anything else can.

I’m not going to get into a great deal of detail on the forum regarding this subject (Linda, you know why). My advice to anyone experiencing the dreams and visions, keep your options open as well as your eyes and mind. The ancestors work in mysterious ways and in due time you will understand.
well that was back in the 1930’s or something cause my grandfather is from pa and thats all i know he was the only one with the info but if i look in the boxes of all his stuff i may find out more, if there not in pa anymore maybe they moved since then but i dont know.
ok i found out info on my father and grandparents my fathers name was david w gulliford his fathers his b-day is march 27th born in 1954 my and died in august 1989 my grandfathers name was david grant gulliford he was born on september 10th 1927 and died july 8th 1997 my granmothers name was virginia c gulliford she was born january 16th 1932 and died april 2nd 1992 i hopefully u can help me out on this
