Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
The following last names may be helful regarding the quest for my ancestors:
Lewis
Townes
Hargrove
Hutchinson or Hitchinson
Daves
Davis
My father mentioned the following nations from his side of the family:
Crow or Blackfoot
Cherekee
My mother does not know anything about her mother side of the family but she said that my Great Grandmother (My mother’s grandmother) was a full blood American Indian but she does not know anymore information. My mother’s mother’s name was Dolly Anne Davis (?) and she died in a car accident around August of 1972.
That is all the information I have to offer right now. My mother’s people are from Clarksville and Boydton Virginia and my father’s people are from Townsville, NC. Thanks everyone for your advise. Please feel free to email me at emlewis23@hotmail.com

Erica,
If I come across any of those I’ll let you know. Lewis and Hutchison seem familiar, but I’ll have to dig around. Check on Techteaches list of people burried at the Blackfoot Cemetary. It’s under the “Other Blackfoot” Forum in the Blackfoot Cemetary thread. She just posted it, like yesturday I think. There are a lot of names on there, a bunch of us will recognise. Of coarse that doesn’t mean they are our relatives, but it could be a place to poke around. I think there are other Cemetary lists on here too. There is even a few Carter’s and a few Bolin’s and, well just a bunch of peoples there. Love & Light, Lynella.:)
