Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Ok, I,m going to do my search for info from a different angle, I looked before for the family surname of “Webb”, which was through marriage; My Great Grandma’s maiden name was Jackson; Martha Jackson, born 3/3/1869 in Fayetteville, N.C.. She had two kids, Estelle & Margaret (Webb) no others that I know. My G.G.M. told my mother that she was Blackfoot, but I think that the Webb surname is Cherokee. there was NEVER any mention of my Great Grandfather, all I know is what I have from a copy of grandma’s social security application, grandpa’s first name is either “Uanada” , “Vanada”or “Ilanada”. Grandma’s hand writing was a little sloppy. Hope I have better luck this time
Thanks,
Judith
Ok, let’s start over.
Who did your Grandmother Margaret Webb marry?
Did they marry in NC or Wi or somewhere inbetween?
Bill
Hi Bill, Thanks for giving this another shot. Ok here we go , Margaret Webb (my grandmother) married her first husband Jake Stiles in New York city in the early 1920’s. Margarets mother Martha, born Martha Jackson married a Webb, due to poor hand writing the first name is either, Vanada or Uanada or Leanada. This is according to Grandma’s social security application . I hope this helps I have birth and death dates, and info from ancestary.com. It would be fantastic if I could find info on if we are related to ANYONE. lol. I have been trying to email pictures of Martha and Margaret repeatedly, but there not going through, I may have to get an address and send them by snail mail.
Thanks
Judith
I found a Margaret Stiles, b.abt. 1883 NC in 1930 NYC, who was marr’d during the 1920s, with a daughter Sylvia, b.abt. 1925/6.
