On the first link, is Northampton county..with the first year of taxing free African Americans, Mulattoes, etc. 1724.
Interesting that in John Stott’s household is Rebecca Beckett..(Beck Beckett)..daughter of Peter Beckett a freed slave. I wonder how long she lived in his household. She had several children with the one Isaac born in 1724 and he later in William Stott’s household in 1743. The Stott family was in Lancaster Va and later in Amelia and Northampton co’s. My Stott line has gaps of women in it, names unknown..makes me wonder. Rawleigh and Lucy Stott are my direct lines. William stott is Lucy’s father. would have to find notes on Rawleigh’s father..cont
Anyway, Rawleigh and Lucy are first cousins with various James and Johns in between them and Bryant Stott and Mary Ship of Lancaster co Va. 1600-s. The beginning of Stott family in colonial times.
Haven’t ever gotten it all sorted out.
There are so many names in those links..maybe some of our newer forum members haven’t seen these yet..

I found the links very interesting, though they are not of my family – that I yet know of. But I am descended from the Pamunkeys and Mattaponis of King William Co. VA.
