Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I am looking for information on Mary Elizabeth Davis, she was my gggggrandmother; she is on my maternal line. She was born 1783 in VA, died 1861. She married William Crawford (Decatur, IN) 1806, Kentucky. A little curious to see if there is a possible connection with Eleanor Davis Gibson.

What cross-connection do you have between DAVIS and GIBSON.
Where does Eleanor fit in, i.e., who did she marry and about when & where?
Bill
Bill,
I was curious about the name Davis, and that Mary was from Virginia. My GGGGrandfather was John Gibson, his father George, his father Martin, who was said to have been married to an Eleanor Davis (a cousin who has done research filled me in on this). In the 1860 census Eleanor Gibson is listed as 78, no occupation. I was curious to see if there was a connection between the two Davises, though the name is common. Many of my family names are here, Thomas, Adkins, Gibson, Baldwin, Shortridge, and Davis.
Here is a link to this particular census:http://www.silvermaple.net/buchanan/bucen2.html
In the 1840 census Tazewell VA., Eleanor is listed as is Martin, George, William, Henry, and joel. My other familiar family names such as, Looney, Stilton, Shortridge, Deal, and Yates.
