One of the alleles of my DNA matches to Aboriginal Saskatchawen. Does anyone have a clue what the language group of most Native Americans from that area is, so I can try to figure out what southeastern tribe it would be similar to. None of our ancestors lived in Canada in the last 15 generations. Most DNA databases do not cover many Native American Tribes but, the database for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police do cover most of their tribes.
Hello well Saskatchewan is primarily, Cree speaking people, Algonquin.
Aswell there are several other tribal grooups such as Chipweyan, different from Chipewa.
You need to ask someone, what they are refering to, if anything the Virginia Algonquins may be related to you, if your family goes back to that state.
