Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I am begining to try and follow the Crow family that connects to mine.
I am wondering if that was what was meant when my dad told me that we were Crow. Recently I took a ride over to the Arwine Cemetery in Hurst, TX.
I went there to visit my grandparents and greatgrandparents graves. Next to them are the Crow family plots and headstones. I contacted my cousin Billie who is directly related to the Crows up in Missouri and we intend to see what we can find out on them.
This family links directly into mine.

This was a response from my cousin Billie Lee Masters about the Crows and the link. (with permission)
“In the Colin Collins story I did find some mistakes. The Russells and Crows are my Granny Ada Lee Dobbs Johnson’s family. Uriah Wiley Russell married Lucinda Crow in S.C.,not James Wiley, James Wiley Russell was their son. Uriah Wiley Russell and Lucinda Crow were my Great-great-great-grandparents. Their daughter(James Wiley’s sister) Mary Ann Russell Owens Brown Coble was my Great-great-grandmother, her daughter Nancy Caroline Coble Dobbs was my Great-Grandmother, her daughter Ada Lee Dobbs Johnson was my Grandmother, her daughter Delpha Lee Johnson Brooks was my Mother. I don’t have this Colin Collins in my tree, does anyone else have him?”
She further responds as follows, (with permission);”Scott,I found some Collins in my Crow, Russell, Coble, Dobbs file:
Doyle, James William, John, Margrett Jane, Melissa Jane, and Sinty Collins.”
