Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I happened to notice this name in a forum and I have this name in my family tree, I just
don’t know anything about his mother, father or siblings. He is my great-grandfather on
my mothers side of the family, born in 1878 in Missouri. He married a Melvina “Viny”
Snelson and had my grand-father Ralph Emerson Harris. If anyone has other details
I would love to know more.
Cathy
My great grandfather was a Francis Marion Harris, but mt Francis was not born in Missouri. He was born in Wabash county, IL, where the family lived for several years before moving on to Vernon County, WI. The family was said to originate in Virginia, though they are first found in PA ca 1810.
Cathy,
I saw your query RE: Francis Marion Harris and did some research. Please contact me and I will be happy to share what I learned about this family.
Norman
This is such a strange coincidence.
Yestereday, I was searching around and found The Metcalf Family Mews. On the John Franklin Reed Family
site there they had Francis Marion and Harris’.

Also, I found another very interesting link under Teator Blood

There was mention of John Daniels and Wm Gibson and Daniel Boone, John Lee, Elijah Clark and Capt. Richard Reavis.
Also, a site about the history of the Tuscarora in Windsor, NY State; the Village of Quaquaga along the Susquehanna River after fleeing from the South and constrruction of a Fort in 1754.
