Thank you Connie! Make yourself at home.
Not only is Linda a great moderator, and the creator of a wonderful website, Saponitown.com, she’s a great and gracious hostess as well.
I know. I barged in on her and her husband, Barry last week (while on a holiday trip to NC), practically unannounced.
They not only received me into their home for some wonderful conversation, but they, at great peril to their very lives (a really nasty thunder storm with huge heart-stopping bolts of lightning was going on), gave me a guided tour of the sacred grounds of Fort Nooherooka. Fort Nooherooka was where, in 1713, a great battle was fought between the Tuscarora Indians and the English. And, unless someone can prove me wrong, it was where the worst Indian massacre ever in the United States took place. Over 950 Tuscarora Indians either lost their lives or were sold into slavery after the battle.
Thank you Linda.
Well, I was very tickled that you took the time to stop by. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Just sorry we didn’t bump into you the next day in Pembroke.
I was thinking of you, today. I was in Barnes & Noble and tried to find that book you mentioned, “Appalachi.” Who’s the author? Am I spelling it right?
