My Green research has only reached back to Adam Green b.1820 TN d.after 1870 probably TX md. to Margaret(t) ? b.1828 AL. His brothers and mother are in TX 1860 and 1870 census records, probably sisters too, if I knew their names. The brothers found so far: Gaines W Green b. 1826 TN, Walter C Green b.1825 TN, William J Green b.1827 TN, Martin J b.1830 TN, possibly uncle in TX 1860 Alex Green b.1805 TN, and mother – Sarah E (maybe Gaines) b. 1795 TN.
Adam’s sons Marion Eli Green (my grgrandfather) b.1865 TX and Madison Gaines Green b.1858 TX are in the 1900 Indian Territory, Chickasaw Nation census with their families. Marion is also in the 1910 Okmulgee Co OK Henryetta census with his family.
In 1860 Wood Co TX Quitman P.O. there is a student-Isaac N Green b.1837 MO living with Gaines W Green and wife Indiana b.1836 TX and their children. Isaac must have been nephew, or something, to be living with them while attending school.
Marion Eli Green md Sarah Malisa ‘Malie’ Minnick b. 1870 MO. Children-all born IT/OK: Bessie M Green (Lowry) b.1888, Mary b.1889, Lula Francis Green (Blevins, Cannaday) b.1890 IT/OK d.1981 Kern Co. CA, Franki Lee (female) b.1894, Robert Cordwell (my grandfather) b.1897 d.1981 Kern Co. CA , Charles E b.1902 d.1968 LA Co CA, Myrtle Francis b.1905, Pearl Francis (Hinds, Garrison)b.1907 d.1978 N.M., and Loren (male) Green b.1911 d.1991 Riverside Co CA.
That’s as far back as I know.

November 22, 2006 at 10:22 pm #23779Hi Sherry and welcome to Saponitown.
There are several Green descendents on this forum. You can use the search feature and find lots of stuff to read.
However, there appear to be at least a couple of separate lines. My Greens are originally from MD and travel to Shepherdstown, WV and then Licking County, OH before finishing up in IA. I believe that they were at least part Shawnee.
Dan Akin of this forum has a different line that follow a more similar route to your line.
Maybe your lines connect with one of these.
