Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
I have been skimming a book that includes two of my Rev War ancestors who are connected with my mixed ancestors. It is amazing how man have the same background: moving between western MD and VA and WV (Frederick County)and Westmoreland/Washington County, PA. Most served for PA, although a few were VA, and so far, about halfway through the book, only a couple from elsewhere. What is also interesting is how many were Indian spies during the Rev, as my Sinkey was. At least one family was given land by Powashiek, the Mesquakie chief, before IA was open. Most stopped for a time in either Ohio or IN on the way to IA.

Hey Tech have you seen any names that show up here on Saponi Town, I’d like to know of any other families that moved there, and maybe remained in the Iowa area.
thanx for this.
