Searching for any information for Mary Cleland born 1823 in Ohio, dies 1880 Noble County IN. She comes to Noble county Indiana with her brother and marries Adam Dingman. I have no idea what happened to her parents, or why she came with her brother. She is one of my dead ends, and a possible source of one of my grandfathers grandmas having spoken NA blood.
My search results here for Cleland gave me 20 results, the first one of these resulting from my own post… I have yet to read through them all.
A potential parent for Mary. Martin Cleland, because of location mostly. I find him in Mercer co OH 1830. Not far across the state line from where Mary ends up, and also in Whitley co IN 1840. The same co she marries her huband in and borders the county they live in. He may be the same Martin I see in 1820 Chautauqua NY. Can’t wait to get going on these again but limmited on what I can do at the momment.
