Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
To All
Hello, has anyone have a Mary “Patsy” Caweya in their line? Or have you heard of this sirname before?
She is in my distant line on my grandmother’s side. When you say it, Caweya does sound like an Indian wiord.
Barb 🙂
Barb,
Which of Mary and Peter Newton’s children is your line?
Bill
HI Bill.. I’m sorry that I missed your post. I have my preferences set to send me an email when someone posts an answer to me, but for some reason I missed seeing it.
My line comes through Peter and Mary Polly Caweya’s son, Peter, who married Mary Waddle. The next three generations are all Johns and then there is my Grandmother, my mother and me.
I’ve just started researching this part of my family. My Aunt Bonnie had done a lot of research and had only given me a little bit of information before she died. I just learned a couple weeks ago that my cousin (her neice) got her genealogy stuff. I’m so glad it isn’t lost.
So anyway, I have just found the information she put on ancestry.com
I contacted her and she said she’d send me copies of my aunt’s notes when she gets time. Right now they are in storage. So I’m waiting with much hope that I do get the copies. 🙂
