My great grandmothers name was Martha Jackson, I’m not sure on her birth place, my grandmother’s birth name was Margaret Webb, her sister was Estelle Webb both were born in Fayetteville, N. Carolina. If it is of any help Margaret and Estelle’s
father’s name was either Uanada or Vanada Webb, it hard to read some of grandma’s writing. hope this info helps.
March 16, 2006 at 2:42 pm #19825Judith,
Thanks for the additional information.
This isn’t an easy one or you or I would have ‘sovled’ it already.
Give me some time to work on it.
Email me any additional ideas you have.

Who did Margaret and Estelle marry?
Was Martha’s last husband Eugene Ayers, b.abt. 1861 Maryland?
……
oops! We cross-posted. Thanks for the additional info.
Let’s keep the replies on one thread, tho, so I don’t get more confused than I already am 🙂

March 16, 2006 at 2:42 pm #20017Hi Bill, Heres what I know. I kind of came to the same conclusion regarding Martha Ayers being married to Eugene, Im not definate
though because the birth year is off, Martha was born in 1869.
Regarding Margaret Webb here is what I know from the census I have located.
1910 census- Margaret Webb, single, living with her sister Estelle Taylor (Webb) and brother in law James Jr Taylor. Living in New York
1920 census- NO LUCK
1930 Census- Margaret Stiles, married to Reaf Stiles, died around 1959-62. Living in New York. Daughter, Sylvia (My Mother)
No Census, but known info. Margaret Hall, Married to Edward Hall Edward died around 1959-60.
I have had no lucking them prior heading North. Thank You for your help. I hope this info helps.

You have to send them to Linda and she will post them. That is the Linda who is moderator of the first discussion group and the entire forum. She has the permissions to post pictures.

March 16, 2006 at 2:42 pm #20183Bill, I have a little more info that I hope will help in the search. I hope this doesn,t make the search any more difficult. Regarding my GGrandma Martha Webb, on her death certificate it has Webb listed as her maiden name, not Jackson as my Grandma had put on her social security app. . Then it has David Jeffers listed as her (Martha’s) father. Both of these document were made out 4 years apart, with the death cert. being first. I called the cemetery that my GGrandma is buried at to see if they could clarify any of the name discrepancies, no help there. If you know of any other place I could check let me know. I tried to find her in the social security death records, but had no luck. She was unemployed at the time of death; Also I don’t know what year soc. sec. started.
