I have found a Rev. Myles Greene married to one of the Hunt girls. Married Oct 15 1789 in Greensville co Va. He has a son Myles Greene, John Hunt Greene, Rev. Raleigh Greene, Lucy Ann Bass Greene, Peter Beauford Greene, and ? Several Greene children out of these. Are any of these familiar? There is also a John Hunt and Elizabeth Green marriage son of William Hunt III and Sarah Knott. These latter two are going back to Burton families as well. I think Cohee lady’s Thomas Burton is a brother to John Burton who married Rachel Hutchings..son Robert married Mary Nowell and their son Hutchins Burton married my Susannah Allen. John Burton and Rachel Hutchin (g)s
connect to Robert Burton married to Pricilla Farrar daughter of William Farrar of Farrars Island born 1657? Henrico Va? This is like a giant circle. Sue J

I hope that link will work, it goes to the Farrar information for the Jean/Janes/Geans info.
You should contact Renee Newman on the Farrar Plantation. She is a cousin of ours.
This is her e-mail address:

There is a Farrar listed on one of the Sac and Fox treaties. And, did we discuss that I have explored the Cheney’s who moved with my folks to PA? I did with someone, but I do not remember who it was.

April 28, 2006 at 7:51 pm #20723We may have discussed the Cheney’s before. I was asking Tom if he knew any info. on how to research Medicine Shows because our Cheney’s had one and supposedly hired all the Wild Bill or Buffalo Bill Medicine Show Natives. That is how the Collins,Turnbull’s, and Cheney’s hooked up with the Lakota. (supposedly)

There are no Greene/Green that I’ve found on the 1787 Greensville Tax list, suggesting that if there were no Greene but that there was a HUNT there, they were m’d in Greensville Co because that was HER county of residence.
1787 Greensville Co Tax List “B”:
HUNT, Goodwyn; 4/04/1787
HUNT, Judkins; 4/04/1787
HUNT, John; 4/09/1787 *

If you’ll notice, these are in alphabetical order, suggesting that names appearing next to one another were not necessarily ‘next door’ neighbors, but have been alphabetically ordered by date.

I actually have been looking into this for days trying to figure out if this Hunt line is related to the Ralph Hunt and descending line. Haven’t figured that part out but they are connected somehow for sure.
I don’t have ancestry.com but there is a rootsweb site that shows William Allen born around 1692 as a brother to my Robert. They have a lot of documentation listed which is impressive. They say William was an overseer on the Minge plantation and that after Robert Minge died, Mary Hunt Minge married William Allen. This Mary Hunt being the daughter of William Hunt and Tabitha Edloe. (her mother Tabitha Minge) This William Hunt son of George Hunt and Martha Wynd (Wynn?)
The more I look the more complicated the web becomes. All entangled. Sue J

Can you tell me if you show anything on a Crispen (Crispin) Hunt? This is another story…..Sue J
April 28, 2006 at 7:51 pm #20839Do you have any dates for Crispen?
April 28, 2006 at 7:51 pm #20852Bill,
All I have is that he was on a Bedford co Va tax list for 1783 with Memucan Hunt..but I haven’t seen the list myself. Crispen was surety for a marriage 8-1-1778 for a marriage of Chizia Hunt and Thomas Pollard..and Bedford co Order Book 6, session of Ct. Feb. 1782, Memucan Hunt and John Hunt were charged by James Turner Jr for a breach of peace. John Hunt released on good behavior after he put up 100 lbs security..Thomas Pollard and Isaac Davis each put up 50 lbs for him. And Crispen in a deed for land on Goose Creek, Bedford co VA 1781. Deed book 7:140. Must be some connections to each other. Sue J
