Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Richardson is one of my family names. I am understanding that the Richardson name is part of the Haliwa Saponi Tribe. I have found my GGrandfather and some of his family members in Roseville/Wake Forest Township(census 1910)
I found a William Richardson (GGGrandfather’s name) in White Oak Township (the 1870-1880 census)who was married to Rebecca (GGGrandmother’s name)last name unknown. I have to check further on the census if these are my GGGrandparents on this.
To make a long story short. What direction do I go to investigate for possible linkage with the Haliwa Saponi Tribe? Thanks for you help.

I haven’t checked over at their website for awhile. They had a forum, why don’t you see if that’s still active? If you don’t find their site searching on Haliwa Saponi let us know, and maybe one of us can find it. Please let us know what you find out.
Hi Linda:
I took your advised an went searching for the
Forum for Haliwa Saponi Tribe, but, I could
not locate it. I will keep searching. I just
wanted you to know I received the post.
Thanks again.
Ressa
You can find the site I was talking about here.
http://www.haliwa-saponitribe.com/
Then click on communications. The forum doesn’t seem to be working now, but you can post a message to the staff. Maybe that will get you started.
Hi Linda:
I had found the site after I posted my message.
Thanks a bunch
Ressa
