Native American genealogy research from the Piedmont of NC & VA
Hi, I’ve been working on my Mother’s ancestry and just found out this week that her Grandmother Brady’s maiden name was Sellers. I had her listed as Nancy A. m Robert W. Brady 12 Aug 1883 Knox Co, TN. After my Aunt confirmed Sellers was her maiden name she said she thought she was of Indian descent and that her line went into the Carolinas. Researching Sellers on line there were some of Chicasaw/Cherokee~ Lumbee/Cheraw, etc. Also, using the search on here, I see that Jeff Beard, Brenda SA, and lentz of nc also have Sellers. Anyone else? Have a great wkend all. 🙂 Greydove }} PS Nancy was b 1863 and Robert was b 1860 in Knox Co, TN.
I have Zeller/Sellare that marry into my grandfather’s line of Pontius/Ponchus/Punches. Anna Catherine Zeller (b. 1726 Tulpehocken, Berks, PA d. bef. 1803 PA) marries Johannes (John) Frederick Pontius (b. 18 Aug 1718 Alsace, Loraine, France d. 1792 in Northumberland PA)
Their son John Andrew Pontius (b. Dec 29 1745 Tulpehocken, Berks, PA d. 1825 Ross, OH) married Barbara Ann Sherman (b. 1749 Northumberland, PA d. 13 Jan 1831)
Pontius’s marry into the Bayley’s in 1807 in Ross Co OH. The Miller’s from Pendelton, WV marry into the Bayley’s in OH. The Bayley’s move to Marion, Grant, IN and marry into the Coppocks.
