Here is a web site that has a bit of information I found, “The Poeple of the Longhouse”:

It has in 1715 the year when the Tuscaroras were driven from North Carolina to Canada.
Its a very long book.

Again the center of my research is based on the St Clair family of Pittsburgh. General Arthur St Clair, according to the DAR, had a rather large family. His oldest daughter Louisa went to a school in Philadelphia with Chief Joseph Brant’s son. It was said that they were an item. In fact, some say a child was born from this relationship.
This may not be far off since Chief Joseph Brant was married to George Croghan’s daughter making this child the grandson or granddaughter of George Croghan.
Then of course Sir William Johnson was married to Chief Joseph Brant’s sister and George Croghan was Sir William Johnson’s nephew.
I have more on this but you get the idea.
Yes, at Six Nations there is still tie to TUtelo(I have friends at 6 Nations,and they recognize my Tutelo background). THe bookstore Iroqrafts has a book about spirit adoption ceremony of Tutelo.

I’ve been to the site where the Tutelo village was as well…the road is called Tutela road. So there is still some echoes of the Tutelo at 6 Nations…they were adopted by Cayuga…so alot of people may be Tutelo but don’t know it.
But there are still echoes, of it. Just from someone who lives near there.

I knew a fellow who was coming down here, I won’t name him since there was a lot of controversy around him, and the official word from Six Nations leaders distanced themselves from what his group was about, and they were quite miffed he was giving folks the impression that he represented them, but he claimed that many people on the Cayuga rez know they’re Tutelo, they’ve never been part of the Cayuga mainstream and they’re eager to revive their identity.
I’d be curious where the truth actually lies. It hasn’t been that long that folks wouldn’t have a knowledge that great grandma was part Tutelo. . . I’m a bit skeptical,though, that they’re looking at seceding from the Cayuga tribe 😉 but I’d think there’d be a bit of interest there. Maybe we all can hook up someday in some way.
